"I was asked recently why I wanted to become an LPN, when most men my age are planning their retirement.  After 27 years in my previous vocation as a pastor, it was time for a change...not just any change, though, but a change that would enable me to use the people skills developed over the course of my previous career.  It had to be a change that would allow me to make a difference, one person at a time, a change that would allow me to ultimately leave this world a better place.

It takes a special person to be a nurse, and a special kind of dedication and compassion.  CHCA provided the possibility of making such a difference.  CHCA is a place unlike most others.  It is a family, a family where each member matters, and where each is encouraged to fulfill their dreams.  To be a part of this family is, to me, a precious gift...a privilege.  Anyone who has a dream of making a difference in the lives of others should consider what CHCA has to offer. "CHCA and I have had a long history which started in January of 2004. At that time I was enrolled in the PN program. Despite the many obstacles in my personal journey to reach my goal, I graduated in March 2007.

I never stopped believing I could achieve my goal to become a Practical Nurse. My colleagues, instructors and the school never let me forget that they believed in me also. They have all been guiding me along the way. Their words of encouragement were, "Focus on the tasks at hand, reach your goal and become the nurse you have worked so hard to become". I would be proud to work with any of my colleagues past and present, from CHCA."

"After 15 years of working in retail management sector, I needed a career change. I wanted a career that was rewarding, meaningful, and promoted personal growth. After researching career options, I decided that I wanted to become a Practical Nurse. Again, I researched a lot of schools and Canadian Health Care Academy was my 1st choice because of the schools unique program structure.

Canadian Health Care Academy's excellent PN program taught me safe practice skills, proper consolidation of theory to practice, communication skills to become a professional support staff, and I graduated job ready."
