Biology for Nursing
Canadian Health Care Academy is pleased to offer Biology for Nursing at no additional charge to your Practical Nursing or Access to Practical Nursing tuition. This course is designed to provide a basic biology intro at no additional charge to your Practical Nursing or Access to Practical Nursing tuition. Our biology course is timed in such a way as to have the students step directly into the Access or Generic Practical Nursing Programs following completion.(Those wishing to continue onto additional nursing studies may be required to challenge the Provincial Biology 12 Exam.) This course is 6 weeks in length

Mathematics for Nursing
Canadian Health Care Academy is pleased to offer Mathematics for Nursing pre-requisite course in its curriculum. This course is designed to provide a basic math refresher at no additional charge to your Practical Nursing or Access to Practical Nursing tuition. The materials covered will assist students with basic math skills used throughout their clinical practice and more specifically Term 1 Pharmacology. Our mathematics course is timed in such a way as to have the students step directly into the Access or Generic Practical Nursing Programs following completion. This course is 2 weeks in length

English for Post Secondary Studies
Canadian Health Care Academy is pleased to introduce our NEW pre-requisite English for Post Secondary Studies course. The school is offering this course during the evening with flexible hours to suit your work schedules. This course will provide an overview of standard, English practices. In addition, it will cover comprehension and conversational English skills and their proper use in the nursing field. There will be emphasis on written and verbal comprehension, essay writing, and conversational English. All this will help the student communicate better with coworkers, patients, and others. Of course, there is a wider scope than just in nursing! Being understood by others through written instruction - even something as simple as a notation on a chart, or being understood through verbal interaction - is crucial in all aspects of life. Our English course is timed in such a way as to have the students step directly into the Access or Generic Practical Nursing Programs following completion. This course is 4 weeks in length

Anatomy & Physiology
This course provides an overview of the organization, structure and function of the human body. Various health promotion strategies that promote the optimum functioning of body systems will be introduced. Throughout the course there will be a strong emphasis on vocabulary. The learner will have had the opportunity to understand: common health terminology related to describing body parts, position, and processes; the necessary elements for optimum functioning for each body system; the organization, structure, and function of various body systems. This course is 4 weeks in length, 4 days per week.
