This 26-week program prepares graduates to work as a Resident Care Attendant within Long-term Care, Special Care, Extended Care, Assisted Living and within the Community.

Program runs Mon - Fri 8:00-4:00 (extracurricular classes may be required.)

· 2008 - November 17th
· 2009 - March 23rd, July 6th & October 26th

Program Includes:
· 380 hours classroom instruction
· Over 280 hours of supervised weekly clinical practice in long-term care setting
· 72 hours of Practicum experience
· Supervised practice in a fully equipped nursing laboratory

Content Areas Include:
· Daily care skills (bathing, dressing, feeding)
· Basic nursing measurement skills (blood pressure, temperature, pulse)
· Specimen collection skills
· Recording patient information
· Assess, monitor and evaluating patient progress

Eligibility Requirements:
· Grade 12 or equivalent
· English Assessment of 65% of higher
· Criminal record clearance
· Current medical, TB clearance & Immunization records
· Current Resume
· Hepatitis B and Flu Vaccine required for clinical placement
